Her intention is to capture moments of time and to distill poignant experiences.

She uses colors to set moods and to express emotions. Textures often help to define her compositions and to unify as well as to provide compositional contrasts.

Bio

Eileen Rothschild is an artist and a writer whose travels throughout the world and her readiness for adventure and discoveries, both small and large, are reflected in her art.  She is an abstract, expressionistic artist who favors acrylic and mixed media. Eileen studied art in the United States and abroad, and she has degrees in philosophy and political science. She has always been a professional commissioned artist, but before this stage of her art journey, she was a real estate developer, a community leader, a philanthropist,  a newspaper columnist, and a volunteer for many non-profits and arts organizations. Her art is primarily paintings, and she also creates sculpture and enjoys photography.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I experience so many exciting aspects of the world around me, and I express their wonder, beauty, meaningfulness, and potential through my artistic intent.  My art can be a matter of seeing the familiar in an unfamiliar manner to understand it better, or it may be simply to feel joy!
